Instructions




The following are some basic instructions on how to use the Swiss Kraft SK 8500W generator. Please read the user manual carefully before operating the generator and follow the safety precautions.


Before Starting the Generator





  • Check the oil level and add oil if necessary. Use SAE 15W40 oil and do not overfill.



  • Check the fuel level and add petrol if necessary. Use non-mixed unleaded petrol and do not overfill.



  • Check the air filter and clean it if necessary. Do not operate the generator with a dirty or damaged air filter.



  • Check the spark plug and replace it if necessary. Do not operate the generator with a faulty or worn spark plug.



  • Check the battery and charge it if necessary. Do not operate the generator with a low or dead battery.



  • Check the connections and wires and make sure they are in good condition. Do not operate the generator with loose or damaged connections or wires.



  • Check the devices that you want to connect to the generator and make sure they are compatible with the generator's power output and voltage. Do not overload the generator or connect devices that exceed its capacity.




Starting the Generator





  • Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.



  • Turn the engine switch to the ON position.



  • Move the choke lever to the CLOSED position.



  • Pull the recoil starter handle until you feel resistance, then pull it briskly. Repeat until the engine starts.



  • Move the choke lever to the OPEN position gradually as the engine warms up.



  • Let the engine run for a few minutes before connecting any devices.




Stopping the Generator





  • Disconnect all devices from the generator.



  • Let the engine run for a few minutes without load to cool down.



  • Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.



  • Turn the fuel valve to the OFF position.




Maintenance




To keep your generator in good condition, you should perform regular maintenance according to the user manual. Some of the maintenance tasks include:



  • Changing the oil every 50 hours of operation or every month, whichever comes first.



  • Cleaning or replacing the air filter every 100 hours of operation or every month, whichever comes first.



  • Cleaning or replacing the spark plug every 300 hours of operation or every year, whichever comes first.



  • Cleaning or replacing the fuel filter every 300 hours of operation or every year, whichever comes first.



  • Cleaning or replacing the muffler screen every 300 hours of operation or every year, whichever comes first.



  • Checking and adjusting the valve clearance every 300 hours of operation or every year, whichever comes first.
